On a cold Missouri day, a customer stopped by the Big Pop’s booth at the local farmers market and asked if they had alligator meat. Larry asked how much he needed to which the customer responded with 100,000 pounds. Larry laughed as he thought it was a joke, but it seemed to be that the customer was very serious. The customer instead bought a couple of pounds to try it out. Reality set in when three days later as the customer actually placed his first order for 1,000 pounds of alligator meat. Since that moment we have never looked back. The alligator meat was divided between three stores in which demand was incredibly high. During this time Larry was asked to supply all of the stores around the country, but was unable to secure the necessary means to do so at the time. Around 2015 Big Pop’s was able to gather himself and provide the high demand to one of the largest sporting good stores to supply their restaurants with alligator meat for the next four years.
