The Story Behind Big Pop's Big Break

Big Pop's Fresh Louisiana Gulf Seafood LLC's CEO Larry, is from Louisiana. When he was living in Missouri, he realized that Springfield lacked quality seafood. So, he decided to drive to Louisiana and start bringing back seafood, including oysters, heads-on shrimp and crawfish. Soon, he was selling fresh alligator meat from Louisiana year-round at farmer's markets in and around Springfield, MO.
From small-town seller to big-time distributer
On a cold Missouri day, a customer stopped by the Big Pop's booth at the local farmers market and asked if they had alligator meat. Larry asked how much he needed to which the customer responded with 100,000 pounds. Larry laughed as he thought it was a joke, but it seemed to be that the customer was very serious. The customer instead bought a couple of pounds to try it out. Reality set in when three days later as the customer actually placed his first order for 1,000 pounds of alligator meat. Since that moment we have never looked back. The alligator meat was divided between three stores in which demand was incredibly high. During this time Larry was asked to supply all of the stores around the country, but was unable to secure the necessary means to do so at the time. Around 2015 Big Pop's was able to gather himself and provide the high demand to one of the largest sporting good stores to supply their restaurants with alligator meat.
Like a lot of us that started in Vendor Trucks so nice to have a Brick and Mortar. We are going to start off slow and offer our building with a Commercial Kitchen as a Event Center for anyone in the Shreveport-Bossier area needing a space. We will be offering any Vendor Truck needing to cater a Event 2100 square feet to use if need to be indoors. And any Vendor Truck needing a commissary we will have that for you. Hopefully with the guidance of the Good Lord we will be able to go from picture 1 to picture 2 then old school to picture 3 when we are finally done. ALL MY LOVE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WITH ME FROM THE FIRST IN MY SECOND HOME OF SPRINGFIELD MO TO BACK TO MY ROOTS IN SHREVEPORT LA.. WE FEEL SO HONORED TO HAVE ALL OF OUR NEW FRIENDS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
